Pass Spanish driving test (theory + practical)

No bilateral agreement means earning a Spanish licence the local way: theory exam (available in English in most provinces) and a practical test booked through a driving school. It's a genuine time investment, and your foreign licence's post-residency validity window (see the exchange guide) is the same clock — start before it runs out.
WHEN IT'S DUE
Due within 183 days after your residency is established.
WHY IT MATTERS
A legal requirement for your situation. Verified against an official government source (AEAT, extranjería, BOE).
WHAT COMES FIRST
Apply for your residence card (TIE)
