HEALTHCARE · REQUIRED

Purchase private health insurance from a Spanish-authorized insurer — full coverage with no co-pays and no waiting periods (NLV requirement)

NLV applicants must arrive fully insured by a Spanish-authorised private insurer, with cover comparable to the public system: no co-pays, no waiting periods. Travel insurance does not qualify. Insurers know this market well — ask specifically for a visa-compliant policy and get the compliance wording in writing for your application.
WHEN IT'S DUE
Due 45 days before you arrive in Spain.
WHY IT MATTERS
A legal requirement for your situation. Verified against an official government source (AEAT, extranjería, BOE).
